Secrets of a Successful Greenhouse

Take care preparing and planning when choosing your greenhouse. Think not of just immediate needs but also what you want to be growing in a few years time. This requires some research and lots of thought. Also you will need to budget for the greenhouse, this cost can vary greatly depending upon the type of materials the greenhouse is made from, and where you buy it from.

MrGreenhouse sells a variety of polycarbonate greenhouses and they can be purchased online for our shop.

So a few things to take into consideration:

What Greenhouse Equipment you may require

Having the ability to control the environment in your greenhouse allows you to cultivate plants that do not normally grow in our climate. You are also able to produce out of season plants by controlling the climate inside the greenhouse. These garden houses really make it possible to grow anything, anytime and it is not dependant upon the weather in your area.

This is probably one of the biggest expenses you will incur for your garden. So you need to have all the information to hand before making an informed choice. But, you should buy something for the garden.

This will allow you to extend your gardening activities to make them an all year round activity. It will enable you to garden throughout the winter and spring. Hopefully it will bring you hours of joy and with a bit of luck will pay for itself in just a few years.

If you plan things right, having a greenhouse will not become a tie. For instance if you are at work all day then a good idea is to invest in a bit of automation, it can be cheap but effective. And when you go on holidays you could always ask your neighbour or good friend to help. We have enclosed a Greenhouse Yearly Schedule for the year to give you an idea of the commitment that you will make with your new green house. You could also visit the BBC Website for more hints and tips on greenhouse gardening.

Also I would say, buy the biggest model you can afford, as I can almost guarantee that within a couple of months use it will not be big enough. If you do buy a greenhouse it is always a good idea to have a coldframe too. When you raise plants in heat inside, it is good to acclimatise them gently to the temperatures we experience in Britain outside.
